During the 2019 DesignTO Festival, Founded by Garcia hosted “A Moment in Time”, an art exhibition featuring Sabine Grimes in collaboration with Chong Wu and Bruce Cannon. The show consists of eight sculptural light fixtures suspended from the ceiling oriented in a geometric circular pattern. Dangling from these lights are strands of black rope, which stretch to the floor. The piece has an important experiential aspect as the viewers are intended to move through the sculpture. As the viewer moves through the space, photographs capture their movements from above creating a permanent view showcasing the different movements in the space. This work acts as an exploration and statement on how individuals occupy and move through defined spaces.
